Flybarless Helicopters lack a stabilizing flybar.  Instead these helicopters use 3 axis Gyro to stabilize the helicopter.

A 3 axis gyro will not correct the helicopter back to a hover once controls are released.  Instead it will keep the helicopter on the same heading until instructed otherwise.  This makes them both more agile and more difficult to learn with.

The fact that IPhones and now other smart phones are coming with 3 axis gyros, means the cost to buy for 3 axis gyros has plummeted.

This is the driving force behind the surge in flybarless heli being released.  Every Blade helicopter is being re-released in a flybarless X version.

These 3-axis gyros are tiny and fabricated like CPUs out of silicon.
