Pros

  • Very Stable
  • Great graduation step from Co-Axial

Cons

  • Experienced Flyers may not like stabilization of the flybar

The Blade 120 SR is a micro size, Fixed Pitch, helicopter that can be flown indoors or outside.  The RTF version comes with a transmitter, while the BNF version requires you to supply your own.  It is a  great step up from a Co-Axial Helicopter.

Stability

The Blade 120 SR was specifically designed to have the stability of a Co-Axial Helicopter. For me, no advanced pilot, that meant that I was able to get it hovering very easily and haven’t crashed it nearly as much as one who expect :) .

The stability is in part a result of the 45 degree flybar, which helps auto-correct your flying. If you hunt around on line or check out “More Reviews” tab you will see this mentioned as a negative by many experience pilots. That is because they are looking for more maneuverability and when it comes to helis, there is a trade of between maneuverability and stability. This Heli was clearly designed to favor Stability.

Reviews Around The Web

The 120 is just too much fun! It flies and feels very similar to the mSR, but the added size and mass really shows in the stability and performance over the mSR – especially when venturing outdoors. In fact, to appreciate the full potential of the 120, you pretty much have to be outside or at least have a very large amount of indoor space.

While most of my flights have been uneventful and crash free I found I was very comfortable flying the 120 SR in large rooms or outdoors and many times flew her much more aggressively than I have flown my Blade SR. The aggressive flying pushes my comfort/control limits and is improving my flying skills.
